Project Officer – RESGen
£22, 295 per annum
Pool, Cornwall
Aim:
Cornwall Development Company (CDC) are looking to employ a Project Officer to provide support for the delivery of it’s Low Carbon team’s key European sustainable energy research project, RESGen.
The Company:
The Low Carbon team within CDC is tasked with the responsibility to guide Cornwall through the transition to a low carbon economy. Future sustainable energy infrastructure is vital for a low carbon economy in Cornwall. RESGen seeks to identify and assess the research and development capacity of energy sustainability in Cornwall and to develop an improvement plan through future research and development projects.
Objectives:
· Carry out a review of existing sustainable energy research and development capability in Cornwall
· Analyse and interpret data to assess energy sustainability performance and identify European partner best practise case studies to benchmark against
· Work with stakeholders to develop an improvement plan to increase research and development capacity in Cornwall
· To organise workshops, liaise and network with key public and private sector stakeholders
· Contribute towards the development of a Joint Action Plan (JAP) with other RESGen partner regions
Nature of work undertaken:
The successful candidate will ensure that a clear work programme indicating key project milestones and deliverables is produced, implemented and kept up to date. This programme plan will demonstrate how the successful candidate will review current energy sustainability performance in Cornwall as well as reviewing the existing sustainable energy research and development capability. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will work with stakeholders to help develop an improvement plan to increase research and development capability in Cornwall and will organise workshops, liaise and network with key partners involved in the project.

Duration of the project: Fixed term contract to 30th April 2012.

Human Resources Assistant
Starting Salary £17,083

An HR Assistant is sought to provide administrative support in the HR Section of the Company (75% of role) and to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Executive’s team and to provide cover in the absence in the absence of the Chief Executive’s Personal Assistant (25%).
You will need to demonstrate the following:
· Excellent organisational ability
· Proven experience of providing secretarial and administrative support at a senior level
· Proven experience of minute taking and production / distribution of Board papers
· Experience of producing reports to include production of charts / tables etc
· Excellent level of IT skills
· Excellent communication skills including a good telephone manner and good oral and written skills
· Ability to work with high level of accuracy and on occasions under pressure
· Flexibility to work as part of a busy team
· Understanding the need and able to work in a confidential environment
