About Cornwall Enterprise
Cornwall Enterprise is charged by the County Council with the economic development of Cornwall. This task covers a wide range of strategies and actions and the organisation has developed key strategic objectives derived from Strategy and Action, the economic development strategy for Cornwall, which inform the operational programme of the organisation. Five of the strategic objectives are linked to the achievement of prosperity. Cornwall Enterprise will measure the fulfilment of these five strategic objectives against a series of monitoring criteria, all of which are linked to prosperity. The other two strategic objectives are an internal objective, which seeks to ensure the development of staff and systems and an external objective, which seeks to manage external relationships of the company.
Cornwall Enterprise Strategic Objectives
Strategic Objective 1 - Enterprise Division
To achieve sustainable prosperity by encouraging a vibrant business sector.
Strategic Objective 2 - Partnership and Fund Services Division
To achieve sustainable prosperity by encouraging and supporting the regeneration of communities in Cornwall, particularly by supporting local partnerships and the economic development and regeneration strategies for Cornwall.
Strategic Objective 3 - Marketing Division
To achieve sustainable prosperity through building on and marketing of Cornwall’s distinctiveness.
Strategic Objective 4 - Project Development Division
To achieve sustainable prosperity for Cornwall through the development and management of economic development projects.
Strategic Objective 5 - Finance and Administration Division
Manage the company so that staff are motivated, aware of their responsibilities and benefit from good terms and conditions and a positive development and training framework and to ensure that the finances and administration systems of the organisation are robust and open to scrutiny.
Strategic Objective 6 - Chief Executives Division
To manage the external relationships and the strategic policy of the company, ensure good quality communication and partnership involvement.
These strategic objectives do not stand alone as separate activities and in order to achieve the overall corporate aim, must be linked together at corporate level to ensure synergy and the achievement of a common purpose.
