Cornwall Enterprise’s role is to assist Cornwall County Council and its partners as:

Cornwall County Council's economic development
and regeneration organisation

The corporate aim for Cornwall Enterprise is:

"to achieve sustainable prosperity for all parts of Cornwall by becoming the provider of choice to the economic development partnerships of Cornwall and co-ordinating and encouraging the implementation of the economic development strategy for the County”

Economic development is a complex and broad ranging activity, requiring a number of different organisations to work closely together.

Consequently, in order to achieve the overall mission of the County and the organisation, Cornwall Enterprise will:

- operate within the framework of Strategy and Action, the agreed economic development strategy for Cornwall which outlines the priorities for the County and the roles of organisations in delivering that strategy and priorities.

- operate within the framework of the Cornwall Strategic Partnership and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Economic Forum, the structured partnerships linking the various stakeholders and organisations within the County.

Cornwall Enterprise will not be involved in the delivery of all economic development activities. However, as the Forum Secretariat, it has a co-ordination role across the delivery partnerships, and to ensure better inter-organisational communication, it will play a role as host to the staff of a variety of partnerships. Where it has the agreed strategic lead or where others are not acting, it will provide delivery of services.
