Cornwall is riding high following the news that the county’s bid to host one of the world’s largest and most compelling sporting events has been successful. Rescue 2010, the World Surf Lifesaving Championships, is coming to Cornwall!
Held every two years the World Surf Lifesaving Championships attracts 6000 young people from 55 nations around the world, all with a sporting prowess and selfless dedication to saving lives at sea. Competing athletes will be joined by a further 40,000 visitors who are expected to pour into Cornwall during June and July 2010 to witness the spectacle, placing Cornwall firmly in the international spotlight. more... | | |

It has been confirmed that over 1,000 Cornish companies have now registered to receive business opportunities through its Tenders in Cornwall website.
In the last two years major organisations throughout Cornwall – including District and County Councils, the NHS and the Eden Project – have used the site, www.tendersincornwall.co.uk, to advertise over 150 tender opportunities, with a combined value well in excess of £20 million.
Tenders in Cornwall is managed by Cornwall Enterprise’s business research service, Enterprise Edge, to make it easier for companies to find out about relevant tenders and contracts within the county. more
